Clearly, customers who invest in the Cisco 3600 will continue to

NM-16A, NM-32A Network Module Features

A new 16- or 32-port asynchronous network module is now

available for the Cisco 3600 series. With this newest addition to

the portfolio of existing asynchronous modules, customers can

choose to implement async ports in much greater densities than

before, and at much lower price per port—now up to 96 ports in

one chassis!

NM-16A, NM-32A Network Module

Applications/Benefits

This new module provides ﬂexible, cost-effective solutions and

delivers a competitive price per port and higher performance than

comparable solutions in the market. Typical examples where the

new module can be very useful include:

• Small to medium-size branch ofﬁces that have numerous remote

users dialing in through modems; a Cisco 3620 with a NM-16A

or NM-32A, 16- or 32-port async network module offers these

remote users the same connectivity back to the corporate ofﬁce

that is enjoyed by the rest of the branch; full V.34 speeds are

supported over the asynchronous connection

• Medium-size branch ofﬁcesthathave some remote users dialing

in through modem racks; a Cisco 3640 with up to three

NM-16A or NM-32A, 16- or 32-port async network modules

connected to the modem rack (with optional custom cables)

allows up to 96 dial-in users to connect to the branch ofﬁce

• Medium-size branch ofﬁces that have a requirement for a

high-density terminal server; a Cisco 3640 with up to three

NM-16A or NM-32A, 16- or 32-port async network modules

connected to the modem rack (with optional custom cables)

allows up to 96 terminals to be connected
